Fruit Can Transmit HIV?

askiyabloger.blogspot.com_There are so many myths about HIV transmission. For example, we must have heard rumors of syringes placed in cinema seats that have been contaminated with blood and HIV virus. In addition, some say that some fruits such as oranges or bananas are also injected with blood that has been contaminated with HIV so if we consume it, then we will catch this horrible disease.

Quoted from World of Buzz, rumors about the fruit that has been contaminated by the HIV virus originated from the report of a woman named Anna Aquiva in social media Facebook in November 2009. Anna upload this shows a photo of banana fruit that has reddish spots because it is considered injected with blood contaminated with HIV.

Although looks convincing, banana with reddish spots is apparently caused by a fruit disease called mokillo, a condition caused by fungi or bacteria that affect some banana flesh. Although it can make the color of banana flesh changed, the disease is not harmful to humans.

Meanwhile, rumors about citrus fruits that can transmit HIV comes from posting on Facebook social media in 2015 ago. Ty Smith account states that oranges from Libya have been injected with blood contaminated with HIV so denied when going through the Algerian border.

This rumor was also a hoax. For information, Libya is not a producer of oranges because of the climate in that country that tends to be barren. In addition, even if there is an orange that is injected with blood with the HIV virus, this virus will die for too long outside the human body.

Seeing this fact, rumors that the fruit can transmit HIV can certainly not true and we do not need to believe.
